SEBRING, Fla. -- Police are expected to give additional details about a shooting at a Florida bank that left five dead and a former prison guard trainee arrested.
Sebring Police Chief Karl Hoglund said he will hold a Thursday press conference about Wednesday's shooting at a SunTrust branch in his small, central Florida town.
Investigators said 21-year-old Zephen Xaver called police to report that he had opened fire inside. He barricaded himself and when negotiations failed, the SWAT team stormed inside, capturing Xaver and discovering the bodies. Investigators did not offer a possible motive.
No one answered the door Wednesday at the home Xaver shared with his mother. State officials said Xaver worked as a guard trainee from November until two weeks ago when he quit.
