ABC News correspondent David Muir, above, spent summer vacations as an intern at the former WTVH-TV studios. He later landed his first broadcasting job there, as an anchor for the weekend news.

After devastating layoffs in 2009, the building for the former WTVH-TV studios is now for sale.

Tim Loucks spent nearly 20 years at Syracuse China. He met his wife there. He was laid off last year, when Libbey Inc., the company that owns Syracuse China, announced it was moving.

David Muir talks to history students at Onondaga Central Junior-Senior High School. Nearly half the class said they had a parent who had lost a job or had fought to keep one.

David Muir's sister Rebecca Muir has a farm in Borodino, N.Y. She's been growing heirloom tomatoes for more than 10 years. Because of the economy, few people have trekked to her farm to buy shares of her harvest so she's started a delivery service.
