Dec. 31, 2010— -- As 2010 passes into history tonight, millions of people will toast to the New Year with the best intentions of making a change in their lives in 2011.

Many Americans will make a New Year's resolution, particularly the young. Fifty-eight percent of Americans younger than 45 will vow to themselves to improve an aspect of their lives next year, according to a Marist poll.

From losing weight to stopping smoking to getting a better handle on personal finances, the improvement options are many. But the truth is that few will succeed in keeping their resolutions through Dec. 31, 2011. Forty percent of people who made a resolution last year didn't keep it at all, while the remaining 60 percent kept it for at least part of the year, according to Marist.

Our question to you today: Have you ever kept a New Year's resolution? And what are you resolving for 2011?
