'Each Message Means So Much'

Feb. 28, 2007 — -- We want to thank the many wonderful people who have taken the time to send messages about Bob's documentary "To Iraq and Back," and the news pieces focusing on the journey with a brain injury.

Each one of your messages means so much, and we feel that if we can bring some comfort to people who are going through a difficult time, we will have been successful.

Bob received the gold standard of military and civilian care, but not all of the soldiers and Marines who are returning from Iraq are receiving the cognitive rehabilitation they need following a brain injury.

Following Bob's experience, our immediate and extended family have become committed to helping the members of the military who have suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).

Our family wanted to make something good come from what happened to Bob, so we have established the Bob Woodruff Family Fund for Traumatic Brain Injury (BWFF). With input from experts in the appropriate civilian and government arenas, we hope to help wounded service members and their families heal and assimilate back into their communities to the fullest extent possible.

The money we raise will go to various established organizations, helping individuals and families who have survived brain injuries in service to their country, as well as the families who must cope with the overwhelming consequences each and every day. These are the men and women who have sacrificed so much. To learn more or to make a donation, please go to www.bobwoodrufffamilyfund.org.

Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers. You have all helped a family to heal.

Yours,

Bob and Lee Woodruff
