Yes, it's spring. Technically. But we begin tonight with an arctic blast, wicked weather for millions. The wintry storm sweeping east across the country making for treacherous driving conditions. In the midwest, this crash in Chicago, at least one death reported on the roads there. And tax day may be fast approaching, but you would not know it by the whiteout conditions. In Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and take a look at this, a scene straight out of December. Some spots in Ohio getting nearly a foot of snow. This brutal cold snap already postponing one major league baseball game and there's more rough weather on the way. ABC's senior meteorologist rob Marciano leads us off tonight. Reporter: Tonight, dangerous conditions across the midwest now churning east. Accident on the Eisenhower. Reporter: Black ice and zero visibility in snow triggering this 14-car pile-up overnight on the Eisenhower expressway in Chicago. One person killed, four injured. Icy roads making for some white-knuckle driving across Pennsylvania and Ohio, too. Ten inches of heavy wet snow in some areas, at rates of up to 2 inches an hour, downing trees and knocking out power. Snow in Virginia, showering down on the cherry blossoms and forcing the Washington nationals to call off that game today. Wind chills there expected to fall in the 20s, temperatures plunging 20 degrees below average. Freeze warnings stretching from Connecticut to the Carolinas. Just two hours of subfreezing temperatures are enough to wipe out a crop. This North Carolina farmer blanketing his strawberries just to keep them warm. There are no guarantees in farming, we can't really do anything to control the weather. Reporter: And these farmers in Minnesota kicking off spring planting season with a tractor parade through heavy snow. Lot of people putting their spring planting on hold here in central park. A mixture of rain and snow throughout the day. This is the second wet snowstorm here in the month of April. So far. Remarkable, Cecilia. It's absolutely brutal, rob. Break it down. How bad is it going to get? What are we in for? Well, we still have snow falling in parts of southern new Jersey. You see it there on the radar, as things rotate through, that will end from west to east tonight. Already an inch-plus in atlantic City. Temperatures are going to drop like a rock tonight. 30 in New York City. Freezing all of the way down to Columbia, South Carolina. Freeze warnings are posted. Should also mention, a lot of rain in southern California. Rains that come tomorrow, could be heavy enough to have some flash flooding. We're watching that system as well. Cecilia. Does not feel like spring. Rob, thank you.
