I'm just back from cleveland ond on this mother's day weekend the story of two moms who became friends and love of the entire city of cleveland. Two of the mom's known by an entire city, known because they never gave up looking for their daughters, on local television year after year pleading for clues. Amanda berry's mother, deducted a day before her birthday and her mother kept those presents wrapped waiting for years. That's why she kept on it and held vigils. She put up posters, ribbons. We would find any reason to go out there and cover that story. For that mother. Because we all loved her. We showed you this weekend interviews from years past, louwanna counting the days since she had seen amanda. 370 some days just not kng. Any detail is really, really hard. Her health failing she passed away at just 44. Her family said she died of a broken heart. You would sit there with her on that porch and her tears were ever present. land on you. She deserved to be here for this. Yeah. During those years she became close to another mother, gina's mother nancy, shared grief, shared hope. You never gave up. No, no. I refused to give up. I knew she was alive. I knew she was out there. As a mother prayed for her daughter, inside that home on seymour avenue, a daughter praying to see her mother. Yes, oh, yes. And my daughter told me, she said, mommy sometimes when it did get hard I was praying. She was praying inside that house. She don't have to worry about that anymore. They're out. They can go outside and feel fresh air. If they wanted to be outside to smell the fresh air, the green grass. To see the sun. On this mother's day weekend, a message from nancy about what it was that kept her going. I thanked god every day that I woke up because it gave me another day to search for her. Gave her another day. A mother's love.
