Transcript for Rest Your Weary Head in a 'Made in America' Hotel
Finally tonight, made in America. And a hotel upgrade creating American jobs. Right at the top, welcome to new York, it says, and right in times square, a big change tonight. The renaissance hotel, into the lobby, into the elevator, and we bump into two viewers, two tourists from Massachusetts. You know what we're up to when we say made in America? Absolutely. I watch your show all the time. Reporter: Before we get out of the elevator, their own pitch. Their idea, another day. We get off and head for room 407. The newly designed rooms. The door to the balcony, that view. Times square. But inside the room, inside the bathroom, a different view. Look for the label. A change, creating American jobs. Made in usa. Where were the towels made before? By workers in the middle east, Jordan. Then shipped from Jordan, ending up in that hotel in times square and in hotels across America. And we went to Georgia, technicians, the weavers. If it's from Marriott, it came from Georgia, and nine times out of ten, I helped produce it. Reporter: 150 new jobs. 2.5 million new bath towels. 5 million new hand towels this year alone. No more expensive to make the towels here in America? Not a penny more expensive. Reporter: And in times square tonight -- you changed the towels out? I do. Reporter: We asked Cynthia, how long has she been working there? 24 years. Reporter: 24 years. Replacing those towels with three words in mind. Made in America! Hotel upgrade we'll take. And we'll see you back here tomorrow night.
