A Christmas shopping frenzy. How happy are you that it's finally Christmas sale. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- It was a better than expected holiday season for retail. With a projected 469. Point one billion dollars in sales. Tax sales are expected to jump nearly 4% this year. Leading the way people ordering gifts on line. We estimate that online sales this year -- via the least 15%. We're seeing those numbers come through. -- the nation's stockings are stuffed. There is a rush of buying after Christmas Day responsible for another 47 billion dollars in spending that's always a great time for shoppers to get out and get terrific bargains as well. If you think you'll be able to shop in peace come Monday. Yes again. Millions will be redeeming gift cards retailers are already planning for long lines at the customer service desk. If solid consumer spending continues into the new year it's sure to be a boost to the overall economy. And might even spark a spring job search which so many are hoping for this holiday season.
