Christmas night. The suspected killer was trying to escape back to Mexico, getting help from family and friends along the way. At least seven people have been charged with helping him evade authorities. And more arrests might be coming. Here is Marcy Gonzalez. Reporter: Tonight, two more suspects behind bars, accused of helping this cop killer evade police. Authorities in California find him more than two days after the alleged gun down the corporal in a traffic stop. Killing the beloved officer just hours after his wife posted this photo on Facebook of their family celebrating Christmas. Suspect surrendered wearing handcuffs. It was awful for it to happen. I want to thank you for working day and night. Reporter: Police say in all, seven people are in custody accused of cysting him evade police, including two of his authorities telling ABC news all of them as well as ariaga are in the U.S. Illegally. This is anl Al yen with prior criminal activity. Reporter: They say he had gang affiliations and two prior arrests for a DUI and an open warrant for his arrest. Thoughts say California laws kept law enforcement from reporting him to immigration officials.
