Transcript for Tropical Storm Cristobal's Path Moves Offshore
Meanwhile, there's a big storm churning in the atlantic and today it became a tropical storm and officially got a name. Cristobal has already brought heavy wind and rain to some of the islands including Turks and caicos, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, and meteorologist Jason Nicholas from Cleveland station WEWS is here. Where is it right now? Right now hammering the Bahamas and could dump a foot of rain on portions of the Bahamas. But take a look at our newest tropical storm path taking it away from the U.S. Mainland. As a hurricane, middle of the week so good news for folks along the Carolinas. It's a relief to see it hooking off to the right like that. But will there be an impact on the east coast at all? Yeah, big time. We're going to see some rough surf because of high pressure across the new England states bringing fair weather here but squeezes a lot of water onshore. That could also mean dangerous rip currents from Virginia Beach down to Miami. Jason Nicholas, thank you.
