'Game of Thrones' star Gwendoline Christie says script for final season left her 'deeply startled': 'They pulled out all the stops for this one'

"It was a real emotional roller coaster," Christie said.

Actress Gwendoline Christie is stepping back into her armor for the final season of HBO's "Game of Thrones."

Christie, who plays fearless warrior Brienne of Tarth, said the show's producers went all-out for the series finale.

"It was a real emotional roller coaster because things happened that deeply startled me, upset me. I went bright red in the face, I had to put them down," Christie told "GMA" on Wednesday.

"It was a really extraordinary experience and I realized they pulled out all the stops for this one."

Christie said she hasn't even spoiled the ending for her partner, fashion designer Giles Deacon.

"I thought, 'Shall I tell him?' And I thought, 'No. Make him wait just like everyone else,'" she said with a laugh.

"I'm like a vault," she added. "It stays locked in there."

Christie, whose character was introduced in season 2, said being part of the series has been an "enormous part of her life."

Season 8 of "Game of Thrones" premieres Sunday, April 14.
