1. Why You Shouldn’t Reach for That $100 Bill on Your Windshield

Authorities in Maryland have warned the public about a potential holiday scam that involves the temptation of a $100 bill left on a car windshield.

The simple scheme works like this: Drivers walk to their parked cars and, after they get in the vehicle, they notice a $100 bill in the windshield. The driver exits the car with the door open to retrieve it, only to have a thief steal the vehicle.

2. President Obama Offers Legal Status to Millions of Undocumented Immigrants

President Obama announced the most sweeping executive action on immigration in three decades, providing relief for an estimated 4.1 million undocumented parents of U.S. citizens and about 300,000 undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. illegally as children.

"I know some of the critics of this action call it amnesty. Well, it’s not," the president said from the East Room of the White House. "Amnesty is the immigration system we have today -- millions of people who live here without paying their taxes or playing by the rules, while politicians use the issue to scare people and whip up votes at election time.

"That’s the real amnesty -- leaving this broken system the way it is," Obama said. "What I’m describing is accountability."

3. Florida State University Gunman Myron May Sent Packages to 8 Friends

Eight acquaintances of Myron May are expecting to receive packages in the mail sent before police say May opened fire on Florida State University’s campus.

Joe Paul said he went to the university with May, and the two reconnected while living in Houston. May sent a message alerting the acquaintances – who evidently don’t know one another – that they would receive packages, Paul told ABC affiliate WSB-TV.

“What did he send everyone? Was it a manifesto? Was it a message? I don’t know. I think I’m just as curious as everyone else,” Paul said in the interview.

4. Remembering Mike Nichols

Hollywood is mourning the loss of Mike Nichols, the legendary director and husband to ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer.

"Mike was a friend, a muse, a mentor, one of America's all time greatest film and stage directors, and one of the most generous people I have ever known. For me, 'The Graduate' was life altering—both as an experience at the movies as well as a master class about how to stage a scene," director Steven Spielberg told ABC News in a statement. "Mike had a brilliant cinematic eye and uncanny hearing for keeping scenes ironic and real. Actors never gave him less than their personal best—and then Mike would get from them even more. And in a room full of people, Mike was always the center of gravity. This is a seismic loss."
