Nico Norena, aka The Succulent Bite, shared his creative twist on an American classic -- chicken and waffles.
But his version of the crispy chicken tenders are filled inside a waffle cone (yes, like a savory ice cream) and topped with special sauce for a fun, one-handed eating experience.
Fried Chicken Tender Recipe
Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts (cubed)
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt and pepper
1 cup flour
1/2 cup bread crumbs
For the sauce
1/2 cup mayo
1/4 cup ketchup, mustard and Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder, garlic, salt and cumin powder
Preparation
Mix your buttermilk and egg to prepare the chicken bath.
In a separate bowl, mix your flour, breadcrumbs, sugar and spices until well-combined.
Dip your chicken in the bath, then the dry rub, and repeat once more.
Fry in 375 F oil until golden brown.
Prepare your sauce by mixing all the ingredients well.
Serve your chicken tenders in the waffle cones, top with sauce and enjoy!
