Amy Winehouse's Ex-Husband in a Coma

When Amy Winehouse was alive, many blamed ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil for introducing her to a drug-fueled lifestyle. Now it appears that lifestyle might have caught up with him. Britain's Guardian reported that Fielder-Civil, 30, is now in a medically induced coma and on life support after experiencing multiple-organ failure.

A week ago, Fielder-Civil's partner, Sarah Aspin, found the singer unconscious after he'd apparently choked on his own vomit. Fielder-Civil, whom the Guardian described as a "recovering drug addict," had gone out drinking the day before, and Aspin told the paper she thought he might have taken some sort of drug. She and Fielder-Civil have a 15-month-old son.

Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, who has said in interviews that Fielder-Civil introduced his daughter to hard drugs, and who in his memoir called him "the biggest low-life that God ever put breath into," apparently doesn't wish him ill.

"Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let's pray for his recovery," he tweeted.

Fielder-Civil married Winehouse in 2007, but they divorced two years later. He was imprisoned in July 2008 after he pleaded guilty to charges of "perverting the course of justice" and inflicting "grievous bodily harm with intent." He was also jailed in June 2011 for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm. He left prison two weeks ago but was still required to wear an electronic tracking device, according to the Guardian.
