Brad Pitt is putting his money where his mouth is as he pushes for the legalization of same-sex marriage in a number of states.

The Human Rights Campaign announced Wednesday that Pitt will match every dollar contributed by the group's members to ballot measure campaigns for those states, up to $100,000. Same-sex marriage is on the ballot for next week's election in the states of Maryland, Maine, Minnesota and Washington.

"It's unbelievable to me that peoples' lives and relationships are literally being voted on in a matter of days … If you're like me, you don't want to have to ask yourself on the day after the election, what else could I have done?" Pitt said in an email sent to HRC members.
