Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is setting tongues wagging with her frank comments about how much she did not enjoy the prestigious Met Gala, one of the biggest nights in fashion.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's renowned Costume Institute Benefit annual gala - also known as the Met Ball or Met Gala - featured the stars of the fashion and entertainment worlds gathering for the launch of the institute's annual fashion exhibit. This year's exhibit was "PUNK: Chaos to Couture," and the ball's theme reflected that focus.

But the May 6 event left a lot to be desired - at least, according to Paltrow.

The "Iron Man" actress told USA Today that she was going to skip the event next year.

"I'm never going again," she said. "It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all."

The actress was even more candid when she talked Thursday to the two hosts of the Kyle and Jackie O show, an Australian morning radio program.

The hosts had put in a successful bid to have dinner with Paltrow in the New York, the proceeds of which would be donated to the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, and audio of their chat over dinner shows that the actress had more to say about the Met event.

After admitting that she's had a martini and wine with no food, Paltrow, 40, responded to the hosts' questions about her time at the ball.

"Do you want me to be honest? It sucked … You always think, 'oh my God this is going to be so glamorous and amazing' and then you get there and it's so hot, it's so crowded, everyone is pushing you. This year it was really intense, it wasn't fun," she said.

Paltrow also commented on rapper Kanye West's performance at the gala.

"Kanye West was playing and he was furious, and he threw his microphone down. It was all drama," she said.

Paltrow also didn't appear to be fond of the event's theme.

"Everyone was dressed in punk which was - I feel like we're all a bit old to be trying to dress punk, you know what I mean?" she said, adding that she went "kind of normal."

The actress said she and her husband, Chris Martin of the band Cold Play, approached Korean rapper Psy at the event, and asked him to take a photo for their children. He agreed, she said.

The actress also talked more about the risqué Antonio Berardi dress she wore on the red carpet for the "Iron Man 3? premiere last month.

She couldn't wear underwear with the dress - it bared her leg, thigh and a good portion of her derriere - and realized at the last minute that she needed emergency grooming because she "wasn't tucked in properly," she said.

"So they were like 'you need to shave it' … and now I look like an 8-year-old girl," she said.
