Style icons flock to the annual CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City to honor their favorite designers, but this year, for Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale, the event held special significance: It marked the first time they walked the red carpet together as a couple.

Holding hands as they posed together for the cameras, Byrne, 33, and Cannavale, 43, who have reportedly been dating since last fall, were "chatting and laughing in between [camera] flashes," an observer told Us Weekly.

The "Boardwalk Empire" actor was married to actress/screenwriter Jenny Lumet from 1994-2003 and has dated actresses Annabella Sciorra, Alison Pill and Sutton Foster. Meanwhile, the "Bridesmaids" star has previously been linked with writer/director/actor Brendan Cowell and writer/director Gregor Jordan.
