Mad Men's Jon Hamm will undergo surgery on his throat in Boston next week.

"He's having a single polyp removed from his throat," his rep told ABC News, calling the operation a, "routine outpatient procedure."

Life & Style magazine first reported the news, claiming that a "Mad Men" co-star was discussing the procedure. "January Jones was talking about it at the Fox Emmys afterparty last night," a source told the magazine.

After Hamm reportedly coughed up blood, the 42-year-old actor discovered he had two polyps on his vocal cords that need to be removed.
