Jamie Lynn Spears is returning to the spotlight following the birth of her daughter in 2008 with her first foray into country music.

The younger sister of Britney Spears just released the self-written single "How Could I Want More," along with a music video for the new track. The 21-year-old actress and singer even got a shout out from her older sis.

"Have ya'll checked out @JamieLynnSpears very first single 'How Could I Want More'? So SO proud of her," Britney tweeted Monday.

Spears can also be heard with her older sister on the single "Chillin' With You" on Britney's latest studio album "Britney Jean."

Thanks to her sister's worldwide fame, Spears grew up in the spotlight.

She made her acting debut in 2002 as a younger version of Britney in the Paramount Pictures movie "Crossroads." She then went on to perform as a regular in the eighth season of the sketch comedy series "All That" and starred as Zoey Brooks in the hit Nickelodeon scripted television series "Zoey 101? for four seasons.

Spears left the public spotlight after becoming pregnant with her daughter, Maddie, at age 16, with ex-fiance Casey Aldridge.

Now she's back and ready to pursue a country music career in Nashville, Tenn.

She's also engaged to fiance Jamie Watson, 30, after three years of being together, and she shared a picture of her diamond-studded engagement ring on Instagram last March.
