Queen Elizabeth II Dwarfed by Basketball Player at Aussie Event

On an official visit to Australia, the 5 ft. 4 in. Queen Elizabeth II was introduced to the 6 ft. 8 in. Elizabeth Cambage, a London-born forward for the women’s basketball team in Melbourne.

Stunned by her height, the royal looked up at Cambage and said, “you must be a basketball player,” according to the basketball star.

“And I said, ‘how can you tell?’ The queen replied, ‘you must find it very easy.’ We had a little chuckle and she moved on,” said Cambage.

The queen and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, are in Australia until Oct. 29, and will be travelling all over the country attending various events, including the opening of the Royal Children’s Hospital and a visit to Clontarf Aboriginal College to see the sporting facilities there.

On their last day in the country the royals will presumably chow down on some famous Aussie food — the couple is expected to attend “The Big Aussie BBQ” in Perth before departing later that day.
