Wall Street Protester Seeks “Cute Anarchist” on Craigslist Missed Connection

A protester from the Occupy Wall Street group is looking to reconnect with this "cute anarchist" in the handkerchief on Craigslist's Missed Connections.

A single male Occupy Wall Street protester is seeking a single female “cute anarchist” he met while being arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday.

The “tall guy with glasses and short, dark hair” posted a message to Craigslist Missed Connections to try and get in touch with the girl, whom he found “crushingly attractive” when he first saw her at the protest’s starting point, Zuccotti Park/Liberty Square.

Though he wished to remain anonymous, the 29-year-old protester said he headed down to the protest after seeing too many dismissive articles about the movement, and spotted the girl with the handkerchief from afar while he was there.

“I saw her on the other side, kind of watching someone from afar for a few minutes, but then things got moving and got confusing and I lost track of her,  and other things like not getting arrested became more distracting,” he said.

He saw the girl again on the bridge and was getting up the nerve to talk to her when they were both arrested by NYPD officers and tied up on the side of the bridge. They were both hauled off to jail at the 90th precinct in Williamsburg, where they were locked up in neighboring cells.

The pair apparently exchanged witty banter over their jailed fate before the girl was released ahead of him and he lost contact with her.

“You made fun of my shoes’ tongues falling out because they’d confiscated our shoelaces,” he wrote.

The author offers to take the girl out for a cup of coffee or tea, saying he won’t miss a second chance to ask her out if he should see her at the protests again.

The self-described “left-leaning” guy, who identified with the movement’s discontent with the world’s economic problems, said he doesn’t know if he’ll ever see the cute girl with “short dark hair” again.

“I know it’s a long shot in a lot of regards. I don’t even know if she’s single or straight or whatever,” he said.

His luck may change, however, after he found an image of the girl from the Guardian’s coverage, and posted it in the Craigslist ad. When told by ABC News about the above image, in which the girl is struggling with cops and yelling, he replied, “That’s even kind of more attractive” and said he hopes she’ll make contact.
