During July Sweep "ABC World News" Continued to Close Viewing Gaps with NBC; Demo Gap Smallest in 5 Years

For the July 2013 sweep, "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" averaged 7.03 million Total Viewers and a 1.5 rating/6 share/1.82 million among Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research.

For the 2nd sweep in a row, "World News" cut its margins with "NBC Nightly News" versus the previous sweep (May 2013) in both Total Viewers (-6%, 683,000 vs. 724,000) and Adults 25-54 (-37% - 172,000 vs. 274,000). In fact, "World News" scored its closest sweeps performance with "Nightly News" in the key adult news demo in nearly 5 years - since November 2008.

"World News" beat the "CBS Evening News" by 1.07 million Total Viewers and by 278,000 Adults 25-54 viewers, seeing its best news demo sweep advantage in more than 2 years - since May 2011.
