Rick Perry's Van Halen Ring Tone Interrupts His Speech
BURLINGTON, Iowa - As he railed against Supreme Court justices, whom he calls "legislators in robes," during his first event of his eighth day on his Iowa bus tour, Rick Perry was interrupted mid-sentence when Van Halen's "Jump" started playing from his phone.
"That's my daughter, I'll call her back," Perry said as the crowd at Drake on the Riverfront laughed and applauded. "Normally I always take my daughter's call, but she will understand this one time."
Perry has "Jump" assigned as the ringtone for his 25-year-old daughter, Sydney.
It is unknown what his ringtones are for wife Anita and son Griffin, but asked via Twitter what he thought his might be, Griffin, who was "impressed" his dad knows how to assign ringtones, guessed "Pinball Wizard," saying he and his father "love The Who."
