David Beckham to Send Obama 'Big Box' of Underwear
International soccer star David Beckham says he's sending President Obama a "big box" of underwear from his H&M clothing line after a the president gave it a welcomed plug during a public roasting of Beckham at the White House last week.
"To be in the White House was huge, I think, for myself. And to be given a little bit of a stick by the president was even bigger," Beckham told EXTRA earlier this week at a charity event in Los Angeles. "He gave my underwear a little bit of a plug. So I was happy with that."
"I'm definitely going to send him a big box of it!" he added.
Beckham, 37, visited the White House with his team, the L.A. Galaxy, on May 15 to celebrate their Major League Soccer championship.
During his remarks, Obama teased Beckham for his age and the fact that he sells underwear.
"He is tough. In fact, it is a rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear," Obama quipped. "David Beckham is that man."
The president also ribbed Beckham as a "young up-and-comer," saying "half his teammates could be his kids."
Beckham said this week that Obama has "an amazing sense of humor" and considered the White House visit an honor.
