Lady Gaga fans may finally feel they have a place on the Internet where they belong, starting today. The popular artist launched her very own social network called Little Monsters. (If you're not a Gaga follower, that's the term she uses to refer to her fans.)

The social network went online today and is now open to the public at www.littlemonsters.com. Sign up for an account via your email, Facebook, or Twitter account and you can comment on different Gaga media on the front page (pictured above) or simply head to the discussion board and chat about everything from Lady Gaga's U.S. tour to the recent episode of "The Simpsons," "Lisa Goes Gaga."

You can also create your own profile with a photo and information and then follow other "little monsters" on the site. If that's not enough social engagement you can also head into various chat rooms.

The site was created by a Palo Alto-based start-up called Backplane, which aims to create social networks around specific interests. According to the company there will be other similar sites built around other artists later this year. A Bieber social network, anyone?
