— -- Question: Is sildenafil (Viagra) safe for patients with angina?

Answer: Drugs like sildenafil or Viagra are in fact safe when prescribed to well-selected patients who have coronary artery disease. Although we don't recommend the use of these drugs during active angina, most patients with coronary artery disease can use these drugs in a safe way, as long as they are not on other medication that can interact in a harmful way with drugs like Viagra.
