Social Media Responds to Newtown Shootings




At least 20 children and six adults are dead after a gunman opened fire at a Connecticut elementary school, according to ABC News.

The shooting occurred just after 9:30 a.m. at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Social media users immediately took to Twitter and Facebook to express their shock at the shooting. Twitter was filled with messages of support for the Newtown community.

Some called for stricter gun control laws while others expressed disgust with the shooter.
