Finding a mutual fund that owns Berkshire Hathaway

— -- A: Now why would you want to own Berkshire Hathaway in a mutual fund? It's not like the shares cost $120,000 each....Oh. They do.

But seriously, if the steep per-share stock price of Berkshire Hathaway is the reason you want to own it in a mutual fund, there's another option. Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares go for a much more reasonable $4,000 or so a share. You can read more about the risk and reward of owning Berkshire Hathaway stock here.

If you still want to own Berkshire as part of an investment in a more diversified mutual fund, it's easy to find out which funds own the stock.

Go to Morningstar.com and enter the symbol BRKA into the "Quotes" block in the top left-hand corner and hit the enter key. Next, click on the "Insider Trading" option on the gray bar on the left-hand side of the page. Finally, click on the "Top Fund Owners" tab. There you'll find a list of all the funds that own the biggest slices of the stock.
