— -- She once asked in a song, "Who made you king of anything?," but one thing is for sure: Sara Barielles is the queen of everything. In honor of the “Brave” singer’s 36th birthday today (I know, I can’t believe she’s 36 either!), here are 15 Sara-isms to help you celebrate.

1. Let’s start with the basics. All this beautiful angel of music needs is a piano and a microphone and POW! All of a sudden you’re weeping at your desk watching YouTube videos like this one:

2. She’s heading to Broadway soon – sort of! Bareilles wrote the score for the musical, “Waitress,” which is set to premiere next year.

3. And although it’s not even open yet, Waitress is making history already. It’s the first Broadway show that will have an all-female creative team. #girlpower. Also, Hillary Clinton approves:

4. Even so, Sara doesn’t take herself too seriously. For example, she shared this less-than-flattering photo of herself on Instagram with the hashtags #professional #artist #beauty #stilllife.

6. Oh yeah. She also released a book earlier this year. "Sounds Like Me: My Life (So Far) in Song" is a collection of essays, each themed after one of her most meaningful songs.

7. Not surprisingly, the memoir contains truth bomb after truth bomb. I mean, we know Sara can craft some seriously profound lyrics, but the prose in her book is equally as beautiful. For example:

“I am grateful to the boy who broke my heart for the very first time. I allowed myself to truly love something other than myself, and that is a beautiful experience, albeit painful… in the end I’m glad my heart was launched into the air by a careless kid, because I was gifted the opportunity of learning how to heal it once it hit the ground."

8. And here’s another quote from "Sounds Like Me." (One just isn’t enough.)

“Your best ally in all of these shifting seas is your faith in the fact that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. Stay put. Stay soft. Stay gentle and kind. Listen to your instincts. Meditate. Pray. Laugh as much as humanly possible. Pain is okay too. Say thank you for all of it."

9. She continues to prove that you’re never too old to need some quality time with your mom.

11. By the way, she also shares some epic dad texts on her Instagram as well. (Stars’ dads; they’re just like our dads!)

13. She actually does love her fans. She says in her book that she wrote her song “Satellite Call,” for any of her fans who have felt lonely or unloved. The lyrics are a message to them:

“This is so you'll know the soundOf someone who loves you from the groundTonight you're not alone at allThis is me sending out my satellite call”

14. She loves Adele as much as everyone else loves Adele, and somehow that makes Sara even more relatable. She posted the below photo with the caption, “This woman has a unique and special instrument. What I loved equally was watching her graceful and easy invitation into her person. Utterly charming and worth every ounce of admiration, Adele is as cozy as the cup of tea she held onstage. Bravo, sweet lady. Congrats and hooray to you.”

15. She’s already celebrating her birthday, so we might as well get in on the celebrating too. She posted this funny pic last night with the hashtag #happybirthdaytome3PO.
