Our judges admitted they had a hard time figuring out who was the "best of the west" during the debut episode of ABC's Karaoke Battle USA. During a spirited two-hour premiere, we saw it all-- from surprisingly soulful performances, to song choices no one would expect.
But in the end, it was music teacher Sammy Vijarro and business management consultant Meredith McHenry who came out on top-- every day, ordinary Americans with extraordinary voices and talents. Vijarro sealed it with a performance of Marvin Gaye, and his very own little "Sam Jam"-- a nickname given to his dance moves by judge Cowboy Brian. McHenry went big from the very beginning, "singing [her] a** off" with soulful choices that wowed the judges and crowd alike.
Who will these two talented performers face next? Find out, Fridays, 9/8 Central on ABC's "Karaoke Battle USA!"
