"Bachelorette" fans learned Monday night that Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray were engaged.
But the proposal actually happened months ago and, since the end of filming, the two have had to sneak around Atlanta, where they both live, to see each other.
"We kind of just chilled all the time," Murray told ABC News. "We couldn’t do anything outside, obviously, and [we wore] a lot of disguises: wigs, hats. [And there was a lot of] coming over back ways."
To pass the time, Dorfman, 27, cooked meals for Murray (think short ribs and steak) and even taught him to love sushi (almost!) as much as she does.
"I'm like, 'I'll take three sashimi combos,'" she recalled, laughing. "I've got to feed him at all times."
Added Murray, "She's an amazing cook. She cooks any and everything."
Now that the world knows that they're engaged, the couple can't wait to go on their first real date. While they declined to reveal specifics, they did say that they've already picked the restaurant.
"We're going to a good steak place," she said. "But we don't even know when we're going to be able to go."
Added her smiling fiancé, "It's just going to be nice for her and I to not have to hide anything."
