— -- "The Big Bang Theory" is a show about smart geeks.

Leonard Nimoy, who died last week at the age of 83, was a voice on the show and inspiration for many episodes, with many of the cast members playing huge "Star Trek" fans. In fact, Jim Parsons' character was a giant fan.

On Thursday night, the show went out of its way to pay tribute to a man who influenced so many in a positive way.

At the end of the episode, a black and white image of the iconic actor came on the screen and the line: "The impact you had on our show and on our lives is everlasting."
