May 6, 2014 -- Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are happy newlyweds who dream of having "a ton" of children.
However, there was a time when it looked like their relationship was over.
"He broke up with me once," the Sports Illustrated cover girl told Humans of New York. "For a day."

Brandon Stanton, creator of Humans of New York, a Facebook page that documents the lives of everyday New Yorkers, photographed stars at the Met Gala for Vogue, and shared two on his Facebook page. A shot of Legend, 35, and Teigen, 28, was one; the other was of Bryan Cranston and his wife, Robin Dearden (below).
Teigen's confession to Stanton is further proof that her road to marriage with the singer was a long one. In last month's Cosmopolitan magazine, she admitted she "played it cool for a long time."
"Never once did I ask, 'What are we?'" she said. "Marriage was never my goal, because I've never been very traditional. I was just happy to be with him."
