— -- When country star Alan Jackson heard he had a 5-year-old fan battling cancer, he made sure to meet the boy in person.
JoshuaJohn Waldrop, a.k.a. JDub, is battling Stage 4 hepatoblastoma, and Jackson, 56, recently sent a private jet so JoshuaJohn could come see him in Nashville, an amazing trip the fan will never forget.
"I was honored to meet JDub and his family," Jackson told People magazine. "They have a lot of special angels looking out for him. It was amazing the number of people who contacted me over one special boy. There's a lot of love out there."
The trip to meet his idol included a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame and hearing his favorite Jackson songs -- "I'll Fly Away" and "Little Bitty" -- live, in person.
In a video obtained by People, the whole Waldrop family is shown enjoying time with the county legend. Jackson even gives the boy some presents and a signed guitar "to JDub." JDub even gets to sing along with the musician.
