David Beckham Is People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive

— -- People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive was announced Tuesday night during "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and the 30th honoree was global superstar David Beckham.

"It's a huge honor," Beckham told the magazine. "And I'm very pleased to accept."

Kimmel played a question and answer game with the audience before announcing Beckham. Some of the hints were that he was a former athlete, not an actor, but has a few tattoos.

The former soccer star, 40, has had a nice career after sports. Not only is he married to one of the most elegant, fashionable women around, Victoria Beckham, but the athlete has parlayed his past career into numerous endorsement deals with the likes of Coca-Cola and modeling spots for clothing outlets like H&M.

In fact, Beckham has his own underwear line and a string of commercials showing off exactly why the man was chosen for this honor.

David and Victoria, one of the most powerful couples in Hollywood and around the globe, also have four children - sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, and daughter Harper. Brooklyn is also an aspiring model.

Earlier this year, Beckham was named to GQ's 50 Best Dressed Men in Britain list, alongside actors Tom Hardy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

But Beckham's accolades don't stop there. The former baller has also supported charities like UNICEF for years as a Goodwill Ambassador.
