Jan. 27, 2012— -- The difference in how Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are handling their breakup couldn't be more stark: Moore was being rushed to the hospital after suffering a reported seizure, while Kutcher was out partying with supermodels in Brazil.

"What we see is Ashton moving on in his life. Demi? She's gone down, down, down," clinical psychologist Judy Kuriansky, better known from her radio show as Dr. Judy, told ABCNews.com.

For Kuriansky, the difference is not surprising. "Women are the ones who suffer the most when there is a breakup. Men do suffer too, no question. But on balance, women end up suffering emotionally for longer, especially when there have been affairs," she said.

Moore is believed to have checked out of the Sherman Oaks Hospital where she was rushed Monday night after a 911 call was placed from her Los Angeles home. A tape of the call is expected to be released by the Los Angeles Fire Department later today. A "very specific but limited" section of the call, related to Moore's medical history and the substance involved in the incident, will be cut out, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney told ABC News. There has been rampant media speculation that Moore's seizure was drug-induced.

Her publicist refused to comment beyond Tuesday's statement that the 49-year-old actress was seeking treatment for stress and exhaustion. "Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends," her rep said in an email to ABCNews.com.

Meanwhile, Kutcher, 33, was due back in Los Angeles Thursday night, according to E! online, and has thus far remained mum -- including on his Twitter account -- about the plight of his ex. His rep did not respond to ABCNews.com's request for comment.

Instead the images of him in Brazil -- leaving nightclubs late in the night, hanging with gorgeous Brazilian supermodels and "surfing" in the streets during a downpour -- speak louder than any words.

"It's shocking," Popeater columnist Rob Shuter told ABCNews.com. "You don't need to run back, but you certainly don't need to be out drinking and partying. This is just a PR nightmare. At worse, it's heartless."

Since November, when Moore announced she was divorcing Kutcher amid reports of his infidelities, their paths have diverged. During red carpet appearances for the Lifetime movie "Five," which she helped direct, and "Margin Call," a small indie in which she has a juicy role, Moore appeared gaunt. Even she acknowledged the concerns about her weight in a recent interview for Harper's Bazaar, where she revealed having a love-hate relationship with her body as well as a fear of not being worthy of love.

"I would say what scares me is that I'm going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I'm really not lovable, that I'm not worthy of being loved. That there's something fundamentally wrong with me," she said.

While she headed to Hawaii for some solo soul-searching after her divorce announcement, Kutcher traipsed through Italy with two friends, including an attractive brunette he claimed was just a friend. Before that, he got cozy on the red carpet with co-star Lea Michele at the New York premiere of "New Year's Eve." And, later, he revealed a new clean-cut look to TV critics, while promoting the new season of "Two and Half Men." (He also played with his wedding ring throughout the news conference.)
