See the Dog Who Took Over a TV Weatherman's Forecast
Weatherman Mike Sobel had to contend with a rambunctious dog on air.
— -- It was raining dogs during a recent weather forecast on Canadian TV, or specifically one very large dog who managed to steal the spotlight from the weatherman himself.
Mike Sobel was attempting to do both the weather and a good deed--showing off a dog up for adoption--last week on live TV on Canada’s Global News when things went awry.
Instead of posing nicely for the cameras, the dog, named Ripple, gave Sobel a run for his money, pulling away from his leash, nearly yanking Sobel out of the camera’s view and then jumping on the weatherman, who gamely carried on with his forecast.
“Ripple is not sitting, that’s for sure,” Sobel said just a few seconds into his broadcast.
The YouTube video of Ripple, a 1-year-old Shepherd Mastiff mix, taking on Sobel quickly went viral and was shared by Sobel on Twitter.
The adoption page for Ripple on the Edmonton Humane Society’s website appears to be a good predictor of the dog's on-camera antics.
“I am a loving boy looking for a home that will give me lots of exercise. I would even make a fantastic running partner!,” the description reads. “Since I can be quite energetic I required a home with children 13+ as I might overwhelm or knock over younger children.”
Not to mention what he might do to a TV weatherman.
