Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson Gets Emotional Talking About His Daughter
The "San Andreas" star is about to become a father again.
— -- It's not often you see a rock crumble, but that's just what Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson did when he talked about his daughter, Simone.
The wrestler-turned-actor got emotional while opening up to "Oprah's Master Class" about the "greatest job I've ever had."
"I always wanted to be a great dad. I always wanted to give Simone things that I felt I never got," he said about his 14-year-old with ex Dany Garcia. "When I held her when she was born, I held her in these two hands and I said to her, 'I will always, always take care of you, for the rest of your life. You are safe.' Literally held her in these two hands."
He went on to explain, "Throughout the years, throughout the ups and downs, I've realized that the most important thing that I could do with my daughter is lead our life with love. Not success, not fame, not anything else but, 'I'm always here for you. I love you.'"
Johnson teared up as he recalled a recent conversation with his daughter.
"I said, 'Do me a favor. I want you to tell me what is the thing that you love most about our relationship,'" he recalled. "And she's like, 'Oh, come on.' 'No, no. What's the one thing that you love most about our relationship?' And she said, 'Well, that I trust you.' And for a 13-year-old girl to say that to her dad, considering where I was at 13, the instability I had -- and she said, 'Well, that I trust you and that we have a very special bond.' And that moved me. And so, you know, at 13, she's saying that and -- you know, I couldn't ask for anything else."
After wiping away his tears, he added, "I love that girl."
The "San Andreas" star is about to become a father again.
He recently announced that he is expecting a baby girl with his longtime love, singer-songwriter Lauren Hashian.
Johnson told "Master Class" that he is "so grateful and so thankful" to have his girlfriend of nearly nine years in his life.
