Elodie Yung Cast as Elektra in 'Daredevil': 5 Things to Know

— -- Elodie Yung was just cast as Elektra in Netflix's "Daredevil," which adds a love interest for Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, on the critically acclaimed show from the Marvel Universe.

And he's gonna need it too, heading into season 2 with Jon Bernthal taking on the role of the Punisher. This is gonna be good ... and bad at the same time.

“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer Jeph Loeb.

Here are five things to know about Yung:

1 - Yung is a 34-year-old French actress, who graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, BUT also has a law degree. You know who else has a law degree? Daredevil's alter ego Murdock -- The blind lawyer from Hell's Kitchen! (Yeah, that was cheesy, but the moment called for it.)

In fact, Yung got into acting while in law school after a friend suggested she audition for a commercial.

2 - She's been in action hits before like "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." She's also set to be featured in next year's "Gods of Egypt," alongside "Game of Thrones" star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Gerard Butler and Chadwick Boseman, who is also joining the Marvel Universe as Black Panther.

3 - She will definitely kick butt. Yung practiced martial arts for about a decade when she was younger and has a black belt.

She started taking classes when she was younger because of the rough, Paris neighborhood she grew up in, according to an interview she gave with Audrey magazine.

4 - She's just as fashionable as she is fierce. If you look at her Twitter and Instagram feed, you'll see quite a fashionable actress. Yeah, she rocks Dolce!

She's also sporty and down to earth! Last year, Yung couldn't have been more excited about receiving work out clothes for her birthday.

"Early birthday gifts! Thanks @Nike !! I'm off to the gym!" she wrote in February.

5 - Last but not least, she has a pretty big sweet tooth.

“I love donuts,” she told Audrey magazine in 2013.
