'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Trailer: Top 5 Moments
There's a lot to digest in 101 seconds of action!
— -- The first full trailer for "Game of Thrones" season 6 is here!
SPOILERS -- but if you've haven't seen season 5 by now, that's on you.
There is a lot that happens in 101 seconds of action, so here are our top 5 moments:
1. Hello, Jon Snow
The gentle tunes of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" play in the background as we see an overhead shot of Jon Snow lying in the snow and hear someone say, "he's gone." Snow was stabbed to death by his own men at the end of last season, but rumors have run rampant that he's still alive, mainly because actor Kit Harington has kept Snow's trademark shaggy 'do and also because he's been spotted flying to and from Belfast, where the series shoots.
2. Cersei and Jaime Lannister's Revenge?
Next, we see Jaime tell his sister and lover say they're going to take back everything that's been taken from them. This ought to be good after last season took Cersei down a few notches. (See "Mother's Mercy," episode 10 of last season.)
3. Melisandre Has Doubts
After the death of Stannis Baratheon, it looks like Melisandre is starting to doubt her powers.
"The great victory I saw in the flames, all of it was a lie," she says.
Well, at least the night is still dark and full of terrors.
4. Sansa Stark's Time?
"You're in the great game now," Tyrion says as we see the face of a woman tortured last season. Rumor has it, Sansa finally takes control this season. And, after the horrors she's suffered at the hands of King Joffrey and Ramsay Bolton, she certainly deserves to deliver some payback.
"And the great game is terrifying," Tyrion adds.
5. There Will Be Blood!
"I choose violence," says Cersei after being told to step aside or fight.
We then see the reincarnated Mountain and lots of battle. Well, that's hardly surprising -- but it's definitely exciting.
"Thrones" returns April 24 on HBO.
