George Clooney Can't Stop Gushing About Wife Amal

— -- George Clooney has said in the past how proud he is of his wife, Amal Alamuddin Clooney, and that he "married up." But now, the 54-year-old is literally listing the reasons why he's so enamored with the woman he married late last year.

"She's an amazing human being and she's caring," he told "Entertainment Tonight". "And she also happens to be one of the smartest people I've ever met. And she's got a great sense of humor. There's a number of reasons why [I fell in love]."

Amal Clooney, 37, is an attorney who has represented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and is now representing Armenia in the country's case against the leader of the Turkish Workers' Party, among other important cases.

"I'm always very proud of her when I see her speaking at the International Court of Appeals in Strasbourg [France], you know, with her robe on. It's very impressive," George Clooney told "Entertainment Tonight."

But the "Tomorrowland" star didn't forget to bring up his wife's well-known sense of high fashion.

"Since the day I met her -- she's always had this insanely ... it's eccentric but it's fun, sense of fashion," he said. "How she does it while she's got 11 cases she's working on? ... It's crazy. It has been sort of fascinating to watch, because she has such great taste.”

Clooney married his wife this past September in Venice, Italy.
