Jaden Smith Says His Eccentric Interviews Are All Just Part of a Fame 'Experiment'
Jada and Will Smith's teen "scientist" says he's honored to be called crazy.
— -- Jaden Smith has become notorious for his unusual media interviews, but the actor says he has all of us fooled.
In an interview with GQ magazine, the 17-year-old actor said all his odd antics and wild statements were nothing more than an "experiment," and he can't believe that people fell for it.
Smith referred to himself and his younger sister, Willow Smith, as "scientists," who have been conducting experiments through their atypical and sometimes confusing statements during interviews.
"Everything for us is a scientific test upon humanity," Smith said. "And, luckily, we're put in a position where we can affect large groups of human beings at one time.”
Smith claimed that one of his most famous "experiments" was the bizarre interview he and Willow gave to the New York Times last year.
“That experiment; it went really, really well,” Smith told GQ. “We got to see how people reacted. And they actually ended up reacting exactly as we predicted beforehand that they would react.”
Smith revealed that although he is not actually as odd as people think he is, he actually enjoyed creating his wacky persona, and said it is an "honor" that people think he is crazy.
“It's fun, bro. That's what a lot of people don't realize," Smith said. "It's the best thing. People think you're crazy. I feel like it's an honor, actually, for people to think I'm crazy.
“Because they thought Galileo was crazy, too, you know what I'm saying? I don't think I'm as revolutionary as Galileo, but I don't think I'm not as revolutionary as Galileo.”
