According to her husband Rory, who announced the news on his blog, This Life I Live, she died surrounded by loved ones, who were holding hands and praying.

"When a person has been through as much pain and struggle as Joey’s been through, you just want it to be over. You want them to not have to hurt anymore, more that you want them to stay with you," Rory wrote. "And so, it makes the hard job of saying goodbye just a little easier."

Feek was a Grammy-nominated singer and one half of the duo, Joey + Rory.

She is survived by her husband, their 2-year-old daughter Indiana, and Rory's two daughters from a previous relationship, Heidi and Hopie.
