— -- Just when it seemed Joey Feek was too weak to ever leave her bed again, the country star got up, walked and even sat on the floor to play with her 22-month-old daughter Indiana.

Her husband Rory Feek shared the good news with fans on his blog This Life I Live on Sunday.

"Joey decided to get out of bed and take a little stroll," he wrote, calling it a "gift."

"That’s not as simple as it sounds when you’ve been in a hospital bed for weeks and were prepared to possibly never walk again," he added. "But I guess the power-of-the-will is much stronger than the power of fear. Honestly, I think Joey just got tired of listening to life going on in the rooms outside of her bedroom and tired of wondering what it would be like to be part of it."

Rory revealed how this past Friday, Joey's sister, Jody, helped her out of bed and how surprised friends and family were when she walked into the living room.

"We almost couldn’t believe our eyes," he wrote. "We were all so proud of her, but I think Joey was even more proud of herself."

Not only did Joey, who has been battling terminal cervical cancer and is currently in hospice care, walk into the room, minutes after sitting on the couch, she slid to the floor to sit cross-legged across from her daughter, playing with her and teaching her some sign language.

Rory posted a photo from the impromptu play-date to the couple's Facebook page on Friday.

Later, he shared on his blog, how Joey has learned to appreciate each day she has left.

"She said that when you’re lying in a bed day after day and you can do nothing and you don’t know if you’re gonna be here next Christmas, or next month or even next week," he wrote, "you suddenly become hyper-aware that today...that this moment -- is all you have. And that today is enough. It truly is a gift."

Last week, the couple received more good news: their song, "If I Needed You," about the birth of their daughter, was nominated for a Grammy.
