John Stamos Reveals He Tried to Fire Olsen Twins From 'Full House'
The actor reveals why he wanted them off the show.
— -- Yep, John Stamos tried to get the Olsen twins fired from "Full House" right around the time the show first started.
The 51-year-old actor told reporters at the TCA Press Tour in Beverly Hills that because they "cried a lot" on set when they were less than a year old, he wanted to see whether another set of young kids would work for the show.
He was questioned about the incident after a clip from Lifetime’s "Unauthorized Full House Story" was released and featured the actor playing Stamos trying to get rid of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, now 29, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“It was very difficult to get the shot. So I [gesturing], ‘Get them out … ,’" he told reporters of the show that first aired in 1987. "That is actually 100 percent accurate. They brought in a couple of unattractive redheaded kids. We tried that for a while and that didn’t work. [Producers] were like, all right, get the Olsen twins back. And that’s the story.”
