Since going public with their relationship in 2011, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been one of Hollywood's most talked-about couples -- mostly because fans can never seem to figure out if they're together or not. However, after Gomez, 21, was photographed visiting Bieber, 20, in Miami this week, it seems that the singers, who were "looked like boyfriend and girlfriend" on a breakfast date in Texas last month, are officially back on. Here's a look back at their torrid love affair.

After they were photographed on vacation in St. Lucia at the beginning of the year, Bieber and Gomez went public with their romance a few weeks later, hitting the Vanity Fair Oscars party. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the "Baby" singer addressed the issues that came with dating another public figure, but said he'd never leave her in an attempt to make a quick getaway. "I don't keep her separate from me because I don't ever want to make her feel like I'm ashamed of her," he said.
|They Split, 2012|
After nearly two years together, Gomez and Bieber announced their split in November 2012 and blamed it on their busy schedules. At the time, a source close to Gomez told Us Weekly that Gomez, who shined on a red carpet just days after the announcement, initiated the break-up and intimated that it might not be permanent. "They are [young]...it changes from day to day," the source said. "Right now it is a break and tomorrow it could be back on knowing them...it's hard to say how they will end up. Maybe she feels more serious about it this time. We'll see."

The split didn't last long. Though Gomez joked to David Letterman in March 2013 that she made Bieber cry, she was seen kissing him in Oslo the next month, People reported. That June, the "Come and Get It" star defended him on "Good Morning America," though her rep had said at the time that they weren't officially dating. "He and I have had such a history together and I’ll always care about him and protect him if anybody tries to be mean," Gomez said.

The end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014 were tumultuous times for the young singers. Gomez checked into a treatment center at the end of 2013, though her rep specified that it was not for substance abuse, and in January, an interview she did with Seventeen magazine hit newsstands in which she dished on a "really bad break-up." Meanwhile, Bieber was arrested in Miami for DUI.
