Michael Strahan's Last Day on 'Live' Will Be May 13
He will appear on "GMA" full-time in September.
— -- Michael Strahan will be leaving "Live with Kelly and Michael" next month.
His last day co-hosting the ABC show will be Friday, May 13, a show spokesperson confirmed today.
Meanwhile, the on-air search for a new co-host for Kelly Ripa will begin immediately after his departure.
Strahan will begin appearing full-time on "Good Morning America" in September.
"This plan also allows 'GMA' to start integrating Michael into the show more often this summer," added the spokesperson.
Last week, it was announced that the Hall of Famer, 44, would be leaving "Live" for a full-time position at "Good Morning America." Today was the first day since the news broke that Ripa, 45, appeared on her TV show.
"I am thrilled for you," she told Strahan. "This is a tremendous opportunity and I couldn't be prouder of you, and everything we accomplished together."
Strahan previously thanked fans for their support and added that he is "always available to guest co-host."
"I'm not going anywhere," he said.
