Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton to Divorce: Their Sweetest Comments

— -- Earlier today, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced that after four years of marriage, the couple has decided to divorce.

This comes as a surprise, with the couple often promoting each other on social media and thanking the other during award acceptance speeches.

But the country superstars said in a statement to the Associated Press, "It is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues."

1 - Shelton isn't one to Instagram a lot, but the singer posted two years ago, a picture of his former wife with the caption, "I mean seriously... Have y'all ever seen anyone hotter? Seriously?..."

2 - In 2014, Lambert celebrated the duo's third anniversary with a picture from their wedding.

"Happy anniversary @blakeshelton! I love you! Cheers to 3 years!" she wrote.

3 - Earlier this year, Shelton surprised Lambert in Dallas during a show.

4 - In 2013, Shelton spoke to People magazine about how strong the couple's relationship was.
