— -- "Black Mass" is getting quite the Oscar buzz, but not if Johnny Depp can help it.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star, 52, and past Oscar nominee told the BBC site Newsbeat that "I don't want to win one of those things ever."

"I don't want to have to talk," he added, alluding to the awkward speech winners have to give after their names are announced.

Indeed, Depp said "a nomination is plenty ... The idea of winning means that you’re in competition with someone, and I’m not in competition with anybody."

He has been nominated three times: for "Finding Neverland," "Sweeney Todd" and "Pirates of the Caribbean."

Depp also shot down the buzz that his portrayal of Whitey Bulger in "Black Mass" is a comeback for the acting legend.

"What did I come back from? The dead? I haven't done anything different in this than I have in any other film," he said.
