— -- "Orange Is The New Black" is back for season 3 and the cast couldn't be more excited.

The debut of the new episodes coincided with a celebration of "Orange Is The New Black" in New York City -- dubbed "OrangeCon" -- where ABC News caught up with several of the show's stars.

Taylor Schilling, who plays Piper, said series creator and writer Jenji Kohan brought a "lighter" theme for season three.

"I think Jenji deals a lot with faith and motherhood," she said.

Having said that, Uzo Aduba said her character, Crazy Eyes, is trying to "pick up the pieces" after "the storm has passed from season two."

In the season-two finale, Vee attacked Red and nearly killed her, then managed to convince Crazy Eyes that she was the one who did it. Crazy Eyes confessed but found out she had been duped later in the season.

"It's been interesting to watch her as the season progressed, find her faith and re-establish it and where it is...how she wants to grow it," Aduba said.

Kate Mulgrew, a.k.a. Red, gushed about her role on the show.

"I've been in this business for over 40 years....To want with hunger to play this part? I want her. I want her and I want her to go on, so, of course I'm passionate," she said.
